OIL AND GAS

Unrivalled Track Record in the
Oil and Gas Sector

KKI has been providing control valve solutions into the oil and gas sector for more than 40 years. During that time we have supplied control valves to more than 200 offshore installations around the world. Our clients include such industry-leading names as Agip, Aramco, BP, ConocoPhillips, ExxonMobil, Fina, Petronas, Petrobras, Shell, StatoilHydro and Woodside Energy.

To date we have supplied more than 10,000 control valves into the offshore environment and 45,000 valves into the onshore sector for use in LNG, LPG, refineries, petrochemical plants and derivatives.

Exceptional Products for Oil and Gas Installations

We produce several ranges of control valve for use in the oil and gas sector:

  • Series 10/71 Top-Guided Globe
    and Angle Valve
    Open

The Series 10 valve has been an integral part of the KKI product range from the beginning and has been supplied worldwide to numerous offshore installations for all the major oil and gas companies. Developed as a general duty valve, in its basic form it will satisfy the majority of low-duty control valve applications found throughout the upstream oil and gas sector. Series 70 is the angle body version. The construction of this range of valves is of a simple form, but it has a design that allows specialised applications.

In the contoured trim form it is typically used for flow, pressure, temperature and level control at low-to-medium pressures and in size ranges of ½” to 12”, ANSI 150 to 600.

Series 10 valves are also used for certain upstream oil and gas duties where there is a need for low CV values and high rangeability. Applications such as Meg, glycol or water injection benefit from our microspline trims, while multi-spline style trims are used for severe service high pressure-drop applications.

Also available are double-seated versions of this valve - Series 20. This range is ideal for high-capacity applications or where the benefits of the trim construction suit viscous or contaminated fluids, such as catalyst fines.

For mixing or diverting duties, such as temperature-control loops, we have a three-way version - Series 30.

  • Series 12/72 Cage-Guided Globe
    and Angle Valve
    Open

The Series 12/72 range of control valves has been developed to provide a cost-effective solution to the ‘final control element’ used in modern plants. The valve design combines the successful high-integrity features of the Series 10 range, but with the added benefits of cage-guided design. Series 72 is the angle body version.

The Series 12/72 range of control valves has been an integral part of the KKI product range for more than 25 years and has been supplied worldwide to complement its Series 10 cousin. The range is ideally suited to meet the various process-control requirements demanded by offshore upstream oil and gas installations.

The cage-guided design is typically used for flow, pressure, temperature and level control at medium-to-high pressure. It is available in size ranges of ½” to 36”, ANSI 150 to 4500 and in a wide range of materials from carbon steel through to exotic grades such as austenitic stainless steels, high nickel alloys and titanium.

The Series 12/72 is the ideal platform for accommodating our full range of cage-guided trim technologies, from single cage right through to anti-cavitation and low-noise multi-stage trims, including our ‘Vector’ multi-path velocity-control assemblies.

The flexibility of this series of valves allows it to be used across a broad spectrum of process-control applications, including severe service duties where noise, cavitation, flashing and the energy levels associated with high pressure drops need to be accounted for. Typical examples of severe service duties for which we have supplied solutions are compressor recycle, anti-surge, high pressure-drop liquid duties and high pressure-drop high-noise gas duties (flares).

  • Series 73 Angle and In-Line Surface
    Choke Valve
    Open

KKI has been supplying high-technology severe surface choke valves since 1975. The flexible design of these valves facilitates many different trim and body material options. To date, thousands of KKI Series 73 surface chokes have been installed around the world on projects for most of the world’s leading oil and gas companies.

KKI manufactures choke valves for production, water injection, gas injection, gas lift and MEG/methanol injection applications. The body forms are primarily the angle design. However, KKI has provided in-line or globe style choke valves for clients with specific piping requirements.

The choke valves are manufactured in sizes from 1” to 16” (25mm to 400mm) and in pressure ratings from ANSI 600 to ANSI 4500 / API 6A 3000 to 15,000.

  • Series 60 Butterfly Range Open

The KKI rotary valve has been developed to give a flexible range of valves with many interchangeable parts and minimum maintenance. The construction of these valves, together with the options available, enables them to be used in many applications where low system pressure drops and high flow rates are required. We produce several versions of double-offset butterfly valve, such as swing through, soft seated, metal seated and anti-cavitation vanes.

Body forms available are wafer, lugged and double-flanged connections. All are available with body ratings up to ANSI 2500 and sizes from 4” to 36” as standard, in a wide range of materials to suit the offshore operating environment.

The KKI butterfly range features our ‘Rotrol’ disc design which eliminates cavitation, has the ability to control through 90 degrees and has excellent flow control rangeability. The ‘Rotrol’ design also gives lower noise performance on both liquid and gas applications than standard butterfly disc designs. These features make it the ideal solution for such duties as overboard dump or firewater valves.
