Trusted Supplier to the Power Industry

KKI has been providing control valve and steam attemporation solutions into the power sector for more than 40 years. During that time we have supplied control products to more than 800 power generation installations worldwide. Our clients include leading international organisations such as Alstom, ABB, GE, EGAT, Centrica, EON, Powergen, Diamond Power, Saudi Electric Company and MEW.

To date, we have supplied more than 10,000 units into the power sector for use in power stations, refineries, desalination plants and petrochemical plants.

Exceptional Products for Power-Generation Sector

We produce several ranges of control valve for use in the power sector:

  • Series 10/71 Top-Guided Globe
    and Angle Valve
    Open

The Series 10 valve has been an integral part of the KKI product range from the beginning and has been supplied worldwide to numerous power installations. Developed as a general duty valve, in its basic form it will satisfy the majority of low-to-medium duty control valve applications throughout this sector. Series 70 is the angle body version. The construction of this range of valves is of a simple form, which is designed to enable specialised applications.

In the contoured trim form it is typically used for flow, pressure, temperature and level control at low-to-medium pressures and in size ranges of ½” to 12”, ANSI 150 to 600.

Series 10 valves are also used for certain duties where there is a need for low CV values and high rangeability. Applications where there are high pressure drops and low flow rates on liquid duties benefit from using our microspline trim. Our multi-spline style trim can be used for severe service applications.

For mixing or diverting duties, such as temperature-control loops, we have a three-way version - for Series 30.

  • Series 19/79 Cage-Guided Globe
    and Angle Valve
    Open

The Series 19 range of control valves has been developed to provide a cost-effective solution to the ‘final control element’ used in modern power-generation plants. The valve design combines the successful high-integrity features of the Series 12 range, with material and design changes to meet the demanding needs of the power-generation industry. Series 79 is the angle body version.

The Series 19 valve has been an integral part of the KKI product range for more than 15 years and has been supplied worldwide to complement its Series 12 cousin.

The cage-guided design is typically used for flow, pressure, temperature and level control at medium-to-high pressures. It is available in size ranges of ½” to 36”, ANSI 150 to 4500 and in carbon steel and Chrome Moly grades.

The Series 19 is the ideal platform for accommodating our full range of cage-guided trim technologies, from single cage through to our anti-cavitation and low-noise multi-stage trims, including our ‘Vector’ multi-path velocity-control assemblies.

The flexibility of this series of valves allows it to be used across a broad spectrum of process-control applications, from simple flow, pressure, level and temperature control through to severe service duties where noise, cavitation, flashing and the energy levels associated with high pressure drops need to be accounted for. Typical examples of severe service duties for which we have supplied these valves are turbine bypass, spray water and leak-off valves, feedwater duties and soot blowers.

  • Series 40 Desuperheater Range Open

The KKI pipeline desuperheater range provides convenient methods of reducing superheated steam or other vapours to temperatures approaching saturation. Available in fixed area with single or multi-nozzle assemblies, these products can be supplied as stand-alone units or more commonly with a spray water valve in sizes of 4” to 24” nominal bores, ANSI 150 to 1500 ratings. We also produce variable-orifice desuperheaters where higher rangeability is required in 1½” x 3” or 2” x 4”, ANSI 150 to 1500 rating.

In addition, these units can be used in conjunction with our Series 19 control valves to provide combined pressure-reducing and desuperheater assemblies.
